More Than What You See: Behind The GSPN Team

Ashlyn Braswell, Reporter, Oct 21 2026

Every Friday at Galena High, we watch a new episode of GSPN. Behind every polished broadcast of GSPN is a team of students working together behind the cameras. From planning stories to managing equipment and coordinating each segment, teamwork is what brings the high school’s news show to life, even when the cameras aren’t rolling.

With a dedicated team consisting of Kylie Easley, Jude Watson, Brendan Rieth, Jacob Lancaster, Levi Keltner, Kalei Thamm, and Brady Forester, the GSPN continues to demonstrate consistent progress and commitment. As students watch the GSPN each week, they look forward to seeing that each episode reflects the hard work, passion, and dedication the team puts into its production. Their consistency and determination are evident week after week, highlighting the effort it takes to keep the program running successfully.

Mr. Martin, the teacher in charge of GSPN, said he is pleased with how well the team has worked together this year. “I am really happy how this year's team is working together. They all come together to work for the common good to produce a good episode each and every week.” Martin said.

One important member of the team is Kylie Easley. Although she may not appear on camera as often as other team members, Easley plays a significant role behind the scenes. She helps with editing, writing, and filming, providing valuable support to the GSPN team alongside her segment partner, Jude Watson.

For team members like Brady Forester, being part of GSPN is an opportunity to collaborate and have fun while creating videos. “GSPN is fun, we all get to work together and do stuff to make fun videos.” Forester said.

After hours of recording, editing, and reviewing footage, the team works to ensure each episode is ready to upload by Friday. Meeting the weekly deadline brings a sense of relief and accomplishment for everyone involved.

The next time viewers watch a GSPN episode, they can remember the teamwork, creativity, and effort that the Galena team puts into every video. While the finished product may only last a few minutes, the work behind the scenes helps make each episode possible.
