This past Sunday, Galena High School seniors Brendan Rieth, Levi Keltner, and Ryan Parton had the exciting opportunity to take their musical talents beyond the classroom and into a professional recording studio, thanks to the support of their band teacher, Mr. Tate, and a generous community member. GSPN team members Kylie Easley and Jude Watson were also present to capture the experience and share a behind-the-scenes look at this unique opportunity with the Galena community.

The experience allowed the students to put their musical abilities to the test while gaining firsthand insight into the professional recording process. Opportunities like this give students the chance to grow as musicians, build confidence, and explore possibilities for their futures in music.

For Brendan Rieth, who was recorded during the session, the experience was both meaningful and eye-opening. It provided an opportunity to have his musical talent recognized on a professional level, creating a memory he will carry with him throughout his musical journey.

“It was amazing to be recognized by someone professionally. This moment will stay with me forever, and it will be a part of my life and musical growth. I’m very appreciative toward everyone who came and gave us this opportunity, including my friends.” Rieth shared.

The experience was also memorable for GSPN team member Kylie Easley, who appreciated the opportunity to attend alongside Jude Watson and document the event for the community.

“It was super nice that Mr. Tate brought me and Jude along to experience this and share it with everyone else. I’m very grateful.” Easley said.

Thanks to Mr. Tate’s encouragement, the generosity of a community member and Nashville producer, and the student’s dedication to music, this experience offered a glimpse into the possibilities available to Galena High School students beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to Brendan, Levi, and Ryan on this exciting opportunity! Experiences like these demonstrate the value of supporting students as they explore their passions, develop their talents, and take steps toward their future goals.
